For Best Results,  hand wash in cold water with a detergent made for delicate fabric. The silk is machine washable in cold water on the gentle cycle.  Hang or lay flat to dry.  Press or iron on 'silk setting only'.

Caution : Bright colors may fade onto other fabrics during the first and possibly second wash.

Momme is a Japanese unit of weight equal to 3.75 grams per square meter of fabric.  Silk is a fine, luxurious fabric that is generally measured by "momme weight" similar to "thread count" which is used to measure the weight of cotton fabric.  The "momme weight" in silk correalates to the quality, durability, and density of the fabric. A momme under 20 is considered a lightweight silk, 20 momme to 28 is midweight, and 28 momme or higher is categorized as a heavy silk fabric and is considered to be best in quality. As with higher thread count cotton sheets, silk fabric with higher momme will be heavier, softer, and more durable.
